TAKEN FROM THE 1989 MHS YEARBOOK

"Going 7-0, the undefeated MHS gymnastics team had an incredible season. Coached by Carla McCormack, a member of the first MHS gymnastic team, the ’89 squad won both the league championship competition and the Middlesex League title. In the league championship competition, Co-Captain Jen Johnson finished 2nd allaround and won on the uneven bars. Co-Captain Kara Dancewicz scored her personal best of 7.85 to capture 4th place on the bars. Other honorable mentions went to Alison Roselli, who finished 5th all-around, and Kristen Dolan, who finished 3rd on the beam. The team will never forget their close matches against Burlington (116-109) and defending champs, Woburn (122-110.5), or their breaking of the school’s record by scoring 125.35 points. These accomplishments led to placings in the sectionals and state competitions."
